  • Gwinnett Historic Courthouse art show, “Walk Like a Gwinnetian”
  • Featuring sketches by T.J. Haugh depicting the diverse residents and distinguished places in Gwinnett County.

WHEN

  • Thursday, January 20 through Monday, April 25; Monday through Friday 10:00am – 4:00pm and Saturday 10:00am – 2:00pm
  • Meet the artist at the opening reception Wednesday, January 19 at 7:00pm – 9:00pm at the Gwinnett Historic Courthouse.

HOW

  • See “Walk Like a Gwinnetian” during regular hours on a self-guided tour of the Gwinnett Historic Courthouse.

“STAMP COLLAGE” ART SHOW AT THE GWINNETT HISTORIC COURTHOUSE

will be featured in the Fall Art Show “Stamp Collage” at the Gwinnett Historic Courthouse August 5 through October 29. The artist will exhibit mixed media collages reusing stamps, advertisements and envelopes.

Motz’s self-taught skills include paint, collage, printmaking and glass, but his varied artwork often includes common abstract and colorful styles using found materials. The Romanian-born artist began his collages at 16 years old, using colored paper. Eugene Motz currently resides in Atlanta and continues his bold, mixed media artwork.

Visitors can meet the artist at the exhibit’s opening reception on Thursday, August 5, 7:00 – 9:00pm.

The Gwinnett Historic Courthouse is located at 185 Crogan St., in downtown Lawrenceville. For more information, call 770-822-5450. Exhibit hours are Monday – Friday 10:00am – 4:00pm and Saturday 10:00am – 2:00pm. Admission is free.

Student Art Show Begins May 18th at Bethesda Park Senior Center

‘WHAT I’VE SEEN’ FREE ART EXHIBIT at George Pierce Community Recreation Center|

Gwinnett County Parks & Recreation’s George Pierce Park Community Recreation Center is sponsoring an exhibit of paintings and photography featuring the Buford Artists’ Group titled “What I’ve Seen.”.

The 13 artists that comprise the Buford Artists’ Group gather regularly to hone their artistic skills and challenge each another to further express themselves in creative and unique ways. Several members of the group were mentored by Joseph Perrin, Professor Emeritus at Georgia State University, and started painting with him in the early 1980’s. The artists have shown their work throughout the greater Atlanta area and participated in solo, juried and traveling shows, along with national, regional and international competitions and events.

The exhibit will be on display Dec. 1 through Feb. 18, 2010. Exhibit hours are Mon. through Thurs. 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Fri. 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sat. 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.  An opening reception will be held Thurs., Dec. 3, 6 to 8 p.m. Admission is free.
