Street Cats Hockey, Registration Ends Nov 1st

Street Cats

STREET CATS HOCKEY

The Street Cats are here! This is a new street hockey program for children ages 3 – 6, who are not ready for hockey on skates. It combines great exercise, sportsmanship and team play. Plus, it’s a lot of fun.

Street Cats play in sneakers, and all protective equipment required to play is furnished by the league. In addition, we make skating part of our practice routine, so kids will learn how to skate and even play games on skates if they wish during the season.

Practices are once a week, and games are on Saturdays. Parents can request practice days when they sign up. All practices and games are held at the new roller hockey rink in Pinckneyville Park, 4707 S. Old Peachtree Rd., Norcross, GA 30071.

Registration for the winter season is currently underway. Parents can sign up in person this Saturday from 11AM to 3PM at the rink. Or they can register online at www.pbcsports.org. Registration ends Nov. 1st. Winter roller hockey programs for kids ages 5 – 14 are also available on our website.

All activities are sponsored by the Peachtree Booster Club. For more information, contact Mark Ogden via email – mark@springboardcreative.com.

WINTER HOCKEY SEASON: Registration is now open for our winter roller hockey season. This will be the first season in our new covered facility and it promises to be the most exciting yet. Practices will begin November 2nd, and games begin December 5th. The cost is $115 for the 12 game season, and includes an individual trophy and team jersey. Hockey safety equipment is required, but is not furnished. Coaches and league officials can assist new players in getting the proper equipment to play.

For those who are not familiar with it, roller hockey is a fast-paced sport that combines speed, agility and teamwork. Unlike ice hockey, there is no checking or rough play involved. This year, our Winter Hockey season will inagurate the NEW RINK. Construction on the new hockey rink cover at Pinckneyville Park is scheduled to be completed in early October. The new roller hockey facility will feature an open air roof, a new sport tile surface, new dasher boards and plexiglass, and several other improvements.

GIRLS ROLLER HOCKEY: Yes, hockey players can wear pink! The Peachtree Booster Club is seeking girls ages 6-14 for our upcoming winter roller hockey season. No experience is necessary – just a love of skating and a desire to play the exciting sport of roller hockey. Those who register will be placed on a team with the goal of fielding an all girl team in each division. (It’s important to note that these girls teams will compete against the boys during the 2009 winter season.)
