Basketball League Registration for Grades 7 to 11th, PBCS SPORTS

The Basketball season is underway.  This league will be focused on students in grades 7 through 11.  There will be one league.  The cost will remain the same $145 for students that live in Gwinnett County.

Registration/Evaluations will be held at the Simpsonwood United Methodist Church gym on the following dates/times:

Saturday November 6th – 9:30 am – 11:30 am

Saturday November 13th – 12:30 pm – 3:30 pm

Heads up…  last year we had to turn a few players away because our teams were full.  Players will be accepted on a first come first serve basis so making one of the evals periods would be a good idea.  If they are unable to make either of the remaining two evals, then getting the registration form and a check to David McGlothlin or Jan Spurlin will hold their spot.  The registration form is on the pbcsports web site (check the Docs, Forms & Links tab).  They will still need to be evaluated before they can be placed on a team.

We will hold two practices in December with games starting in January.

Winter Basketball Registration at Collins Hills Athletic Association

Registration for the CHAA Winter 2009-2010 Basketball Season began October 10th and continues online  through November 1st.  Please note that a late fee of $20 will apply to registrations beginning on October 26th.

Games and practices are held at Elementary and Middle School Gyms in the Collins Hill Cluster, and also at Richards Middle School.  Activities during the week begin after 6 PM, and on Saturdays after 9 AM.  There will typically be two or three activities each week, being a combination of practices and games.

CHAA offers the following age groups for the Winter season:

Age Group // Birthdates

5-6 Coed  //  09/01/2002 to 08/31/2004
7-8 Boys/Girls  //  09/01/2000 to 08/31/2002
9-10 Boys/Girls  //  09/01/1998 to 08/31/2000
11-12 Boys/Girls  //  09/01/1996 to 08/31/1998
13-14 Boys  //  09/01/1994 to 08/31/1996
13-18 Girls  //  09/01/1990 to 08/31/1996
15-18 Boys  //  09/01/1990 to 08/31/1994

IMPORTANT NOTE:  Due to a policy change between Gwinnett County Public Schools and Parks & Recreation, the costs for gym usage have increased substantially.  As a result, CHAA has incurred a $25 increase in registration costs from last year.  Theyhave worked closely with our GCPS representative to minimize the cost increase, but must increase our registration fees to cover the increased cost of gym usage.

The Winter season will cost $155 and will run from November 14th through February 2010.  The season will consist of 11 games, including a single-elimination tournament to complete the season (5-6 age group will play 8 games & no tournament).  Teams will practice 1-2 times per week, and will play 1 or 2 games per week after games begin.

The girl’s leagues will play some inter-association games with other local organizations such as Duluth, Peachtree Ridge, and Dacula.

CHAA will be looking for coaching volunteers in all age groups! If you are a parent interested in being a coach, please click visit their website.

If your player will need a uniform, please be sure to select the sizes on the registration form.  The cost (Shirt: $25 / Shorts: $15) will be added to your registration.  CHAA will have samples available during player evaluations and a list for you to verify your players’ sizes.
