Gwinnett County Parks & Recreation (GCPR) in partnership with National Alliance for Youth Sports (NAYS) will be holding the Youth Sports Expo on Saturday, Aug. 6 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. at Rhodes Jordan Park. This all day event is the largest sports expo of its kind in the state of Georgia. Participants can earn 0.4 CEUs by attending the educational sessions covering youth sports management, field and facility management, marketing and advertising, volunteering, safety and background checks, sports injury and treatment, along with great financial management advice.
In addition to the educational sessions, participants are encouraged to take advantage of the expo hall featuring product demonstrations, vendor giveaways and a silent auction. All proceeds from the silent auction will benefit the Gwinnett County Parks & Recreation Scholarship Fund for youth sports. Among the items being auctioned will be signed sports memorabilia, vacations and golf certificates.
Doors open at 8 a.m. with breakfast provided by Costco. Expo hall hours will be from 11:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. Lunch will be provided by Gwinnett Convention and Visitors Bureau. There is still time to register online at www.gwinnettparks.com or by calling 770-822-5414. The cost is $30 for individual registration and discounted for groups of 5 for only $120!
