BETHESDA PARK SENIOR RECREATION CENTER REOPENS

The Senior Recreation Center at Bethesda Park will reopen to the public on Oct. 20. Opened 20 years ago as the first senior recreation center in Gwinnett County, the center recently underwent a major renovation project.

Interior renovations to the center, funded out of the 2005 Special Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) included the replacement of lighting and plumbing fixtures with energy-efficient models, countertops, cabinets and reception desk, along with floor, ceiling and wall coverings. Kitchen equipment was also upgraded to commercial grade quality through money provided through the federally funded Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program.
