Gwinnett County Park Events this Weekend
June 5, 11:00am-1:00pm – Brown Bag Concert Series
Free! Pack up a blanket, lunch, and the kids and enjoy an afternoon of music, crafts, and face painting on the lawn at the Gwinnett Historic Courthouse. Kids of all ages will enjoy the interactive steel drums performance by Scott Douglas. Kids will also get to make island jewelry to wear. For details on sponsor booths call 770.822.5450. June 6, 8:00am-2:00pm – Trail Mix
Free! Mix it up at the park–biking, running, fishing and fun! Bring your mountain bike for a guided trail ride, a time trial race through the woods, or leisurely ride around the park! Enjoy the Trail Mix 2 Mile Fun Run/Walk (canines welcome) sponsored by the Gwinnett Parks Foundation; $10/person or $25/family of 5; entry fee includes t-shirt. Cast a line in a catch and release fishing competition! (fish from the shore or use your non-motorized boat). Fun, family activities throughout the park including hayrides, nature hike, face painting and more! Most activities are free! Call 770.822.8873 for more information. Kids Fishing Day 2008 at Jones Bridge Park

Free! Bring a rod and reel and introduce your kids to the sport of fishing! Prizes, free hotdogs and drinks for kids (while supplies last). Bait and assistance provided, fishing license not necessary. Sponsored by Gwinnett County Parks & Recreation, Wal-mart, Bass Pro Shops, Department of Natural Resources, Rainbow Ranch, Local Kiwanis Clubs and Tailwater Chapter of Trout Unlimited.
